On a clear afternoon in Sylacauga, Alabama in 1954, Ann Hodges was napping on her couch when a lump of rock fell through her ceiling, bounced off a radio and struck her in the loin.
A local geologist was call and identified the rock as a meteorite. It weighed 8.5 pounds and measured 7 inches.
Ann is the first case report of a human struck by a meteorite.
