The White House announced that the Resolute Desk (Photo 1), the one used by the President, has been temporarily removed for "repairs." In the meantime, Trump will be using the C&O Desk (Photos 2 and 3), which was previously used by George H.W. Bush.
The White House keeps several historic desks in its collection, and presidents throughout history have used different ones. The most famous is the Resolute Desk, a gift from Queen Victoria in 1879. The C&O Desk, on the other hand, was a 1920 gift from the president of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company and has been used by presidents like Ford, Carter, Reagan, and George H.W. Bush.
Rumor has it that the real reason for the switch is that Musk's son, X, recently wiped his nose on the Resolute Desk (Photo 4). Trump, known for being a germaphobe, reportedly couldn't tolerate it.
